The City of Newark is proud to partner with Yendor Arts, an arts organization leading the Newark Murals Program, Museum of Impact the first mobile social justice museum is taking a commemorative approach to Mother’s Day celebration; by uplifting the mothers of the movement, on a new mural called ‘Every Mother’ on Saturday, May 13th 11 a.m. at 545 Hawthorne Avenue Newark, NJ.

'Every Mother’ – mural is dedicated to celebrating the strength, hope, paint and resilience, of women, caregivers and mothers fighting for justice for their families in the wake of urban violence. This mural was created by internationally renowned Brooklyn based artist, Sophia Dawson in commemoration to mothers who have lost their children at the hands of police brutality and racism. Free & Open to the Public! Everyone is Invited. The event will begin with opening remarks from The Honorable Mayor Ras Baraka, and local representatives followed by a mural reveal where we will be honoring mothers in the Newark community and throughout the nation. Afterwards there will be refreshments, performances and spaces to share stories and write Upstander Love Letters.
